Jesus lived a life that was pleasing to our Father, and invited people to come close and consider God on His terms. At St. Paul, we are intentional in living a COME Way of Life that reflects Jesus’s model by revealing the love of the Father for humanity and inviting them into an eternal relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ.

Jesus’ end game was to make disciples of all nations. At St. Paul, we are intentional in serving God by serving people within our circle of influence and partner with God to transform them to live and love like Jesus every day.
Church History
On June 27, 1997, St. Paul Baptist Church was blessed with the anointed leadership of Reverend Deveraux R. Hubbard. Under his leadership, a new Vision and Mission Statement was established for St. Paul. Our Vision Statement is clear, “We exist to catch and cultivate the lost so that they might have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which causes them to celebrate Him, Commune with the Saints, and Work with us to fulfill the great commission.” Likewise, St. Paul continues to live by our Mission Statement of Live and Love Like Jesus each and every day. Pastor Hubbard has guided our congregation from 136 members to over 2500. He makes it a priority for our congregation to partner with churches, community groups and agencies to meet the practical needs of people in Peoria. He also extended our ministry outreach through a radio broadcast on WVEL 1140 AM.
St. Paul currently has over 25 ministries that not only reach out to the church family, but to the community as a whole. In keeping with our Mission Statement, Pastor Hubbard led the membership to be a blessing to the Peoria area through numerous events including Harvest Fest, Angel Tree, and Food for the Soul. Financially, we have been blessed to provide scholarships, outreach ministries, benevolence, and other needs to the community.
A notable accomplishment under Pastor Hubbard’s leadership was the transition of our congregation from the facility at 603 W. Nebraska (14,000 square feet) to our current facility at 114 W. Forrest Hill Avenue (70,000 square feet). The first worship service in our new church home was held on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2011. Pastor Hubbard continues our efforts to work with the leadership team, staff, and members of the congregation, to carry on the work of Kingdom Building so that God will continue to receive the glory.
